Los Angeles IFS Therapist and Grief Counselor

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hi, I'm Chris Datiles (he/him), a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California License #13266) and IFS therapist based in Los Angeles. As a queer Filipino-American therapist, I bring lived experience alongside clinical training to everything I write about — identity, grief, and what it costs to navigate a world that was not built with you in mind.

Through my blog you can find my thoughts and reflections on: IFS therapy, grief and loss, burnout, LGBTQ+ mental health, and Filipino American healing.

In my twice-monthly newsletter, What Remains, you can find brief notes and reflections on how to engage in practices that help you slow down and feel free.

RECENT BLOG POSTS
WHAT I WRITE ABOUT:
  • IFS Therapy — exploring what it means to be in relationship with the parts of us that carry pain and trauma, and what they need to rest.

  • Grief and Loss — tending to what often goes unnamed. Grief related to suicide, cancer, aging, and the loss of identity and purpose.

  • LGBTQ+ Mental Health — focusing on what it means to be queer, trans, and non-binary in a world that tries to erase us.

  • Filipino American Mental Health — reflecting on growing up Filipino American. The inner-conflict, feeling in-between cultures, and what it takes to hold one’s identity close.
